I have decided on Kubota over JD 4310. Now I keep flip flopping on new versus used. My biggest concern is the difference between the 3010 and the 3130 models and then the new versus used decision. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Here they are:
Private owner
Used 2001 L3010 HST 230 hours R-4's fixed ROP tires not filled.
Garaged. Looks like new. Showroom. Used mainly for mowing.
Price is 11,250 for the tractor only. It's $12,250 with BH RD72" finish mower. It also looks well taken care of.

Used 2003 L3130 HST 50 hours R-4's foldable ROPs tires not filled. Brush guard. Garaged . Looks almost as good as 3010 above.
Price is $13000 with almost new 60" King Kutter side discharge finish mower and an older BH 4' rotary cutter that works fine. Does not want to separate.
OR
New from dealer
2004 L3130 HST R4's Foldable ROPs tires filled (not sure with what) Price is 14,100 + 987.00. tax
Add a Woods or Kubota FEl price is 17,500 + 1,225.00 tax

I plan on putting a FEL on what ever we choose. Any advice on brand and size would be appreciated.
Can I put a new loader on either of the two used models for around 3400.00, or is the dealer giving me a break because I am buying the tractor from him?
Thanks for all your help.

Unless you are paying cash, the new L3130 should be the best deal. You will have a new tractor warranty and 0% interest for 36 months.
I would only consider a Kubota FEL.
The LA513 loader is the same one that was used on the L3010. May require some different mounting brackets.

Wouldn't you have to pay tax on the used models you posted? If so the new sounds best. Better financing (if you need that) and guarentee.
I also would recommend the Kubota FEL. It's about the same price I paid for my L482 FEL 2 1/2 yrs ago. I think it was 3300 if purchased at the same time as the tractor, and a couple hundred more if I bought the FEL later.
I have a L3010 with 250 hours on it. It looks and works just like it was new. The R4's aren't even broken in yet. If you ever plan to add a back hoe, it is my understanding that the 3130 can handle the bh90, but my L3010 cannot. Something to do with the frame mount differences.
If you didn't have to pay tax on the used ones that could sway the decision that direction. Really a tough call since I believe all would do a great job for you.

Moon and Ron,
Thanks for your input. I believe I am going for the used L3130 as I will save 3000.00 over the new when you factor in the tax. It still has 6 months of bumper to bumper and over a year of powertrain warranty left on it. it seems like a pretty good deal when I priced the bushhog and finish mower.
I priced the LA723 installed with the quick attach bucket for 3700.00. Includes filling the tires.
The Woods 1012 was 3500.00, but I wanted to stay Kubota as you both suggested.
Thanks again for all your help.

Good choice.

I have a new L3130, too. It's a nice rig.

You might ask the seller if he did the required 50 hr maintenance. If not, add the price of those maintenance activities to your overall cost...about $300-350.

Good luck and Im sure you'll love your tractor.

We had the discussion today. He has all the parts and planned on doing it. I asked him to hold off. I figured it was a good chance for me to get to know my motor. Is this meant to be a dealer only service, or can a fairly handy person handle it?

I did my own 50 hr maintenance and I think if you're handy, you wont have any trouble either.

Check the thread history here at TBN and look for tips on doing this maintenance activity. I know there's quite a bit on the subject.

I stayed with Super UDT but I know others are happy with some other choices.

good luck and most of all....enjoy it!

While I had my 50 hour service done by the dealer, it is a rather straightforward DIY job. Be sure to inspect and clean the transmission strainer. It's all covered in the tractor manual. Just be prepared for the large amount of hydraulic fluid when you change it. My B7610 has 4 gallons of hydraulic fluid--if you're expecting 4 or 5 quarts and get 4 gallons, you could have a lot of oil on the floor.

Check the manual and see if it calls for Kubota Super UDT in the transmission. If so, be sure to use Super UDT and not regular UDT. It does make a difference. My dealer filled my B7610 with UDT and I did notice a difference in loader performance and transmission noise level. I got a 5 gallon pail of Super UDT free from the dealer. I changed the fluid myself this time.

Have a good time with your new tool.
