Had about 1/2 gallon in tank and decided to load about 2 1/2 gallon of the low sulphur to finish job. After about 1 hr tractor lost power. Had trouble pulling 8 foot finish mower. Went to home base in second gear without mower running. Tractor easily handles thick grass in 3rd middle range.

Im wondering would this fuel loosen stuff in tank causing fuel filter to plug? Would running without some kind conditioner hurt engine in an hour? Never used this stuff before. Of course, I'm hoping it's just a fuel filter. But I haven't tried anything yet.

Hoping all had a great day today...........Coffeeman

What do you normally run for fuel? I think it's a coincedence, and just time for a fuel filter, hopefully

Was it bio and you've never used bio in it before? Had bio plug the fuel filter on our 1983 240D Benz after the 3rd tankful of it. It will dissolve some stuff that maybe been stuck to the sides of the fuel tank for years.

I now alternate tanks of bio with normal low sulfur. Can still get it at the Shell station.

I once had clumps of wax come out of solution when I bought some off road low sulfur. Had a couple night that winter below 10 F. The wax clumps partly plugged the outlet from the tank on my 4010.

Change your filter... add some conditioner

Thanks everybody. All good advice, in my opinion. Could be just bad timing. I am going to load up on the old fuel. The receipt warns me of the sulfur. I will change filter too. I think I have about a 100 hrs on fuel filter. Maybe it's time to change anyway.

Thanks all......Cpffeeman

Very well could be just a coincidence... but you can run low sulfur and im not sure were you can find the old stuff anymore... just add a good conditioner to it that offers a lubricant replacement like Lucas

I put a quart of 4 cycle oil in a 55 gal drum when I fill it with the low Sulphur fuel to help lubricate the fuel pump on my 03 and 00 year model tractors. Use some Diesel Sta-bil and Power Service according to label directions.
Seems to help keep fuel issues down with regular filter changes based on hours.
