Flail Mower Used Mott Flail value

I'm looking to buy a flail mower to do the horse pastures at the farm. I came across a 5' Mott that is being sold as a local pickup on Ebay. He says it is in excellent condition with new flail blades, and that the bearings are excellent. It is close enough for me to be able to check it out/pick it up. What would a reasonable value be for this? It is currently listed for $950.
I'm debating whether to buy used or pick up a new Woodmaxx 62H. I bought a snowblower from them and it has worked very well and is sturdily constructed to say the least. I am looking for something that will do a decent cut on mostly grass fields.

Any advice is appreciated!

I paid $750 for a 5 ft in only fair condition 2 years ago. Painted it and replaced some missing blades, and sold it for $1000. Kind of a winter time hobby to get some shop time.
I really like the old Motts and John Deere flails, wish I could find more of them.

I wouldn’t buy it unless you can see it operate at full rpm, in order to check for bent shaft or bad bearings, they are expensive to repair.

Thanks for the response- that was the appeal of this listing- I am close enough that it would be reasonable to go and have it run through its paces. In the end, it is still buying a used piece of equipment that has taken an unknown amount of abuse- always a calculated risk. I may pass on it if I cannot get the price down enough to justify that risk.
