I'm addicted to power tracs but I don't even own one yet. I can save up for a couple of years and get a new one, or try to find a used one and possibly get one this fall. So in my usually fruitless search for a used power trac, I found this: Power Trac Commercial Lawn Mower | eBay

It doesn't look like it has a QA plate for some reason. Is this a different mounting system? Will this work with QA plates to run a trencher and minihoe? Those are the two implements I will need first and most. I was really looking for a 1430, but bigger is probably better than smaller in my situation - where I have to do a bunch of trenching and digging for retaining walls and lots of material handling. (55 gal drums, lots of bricks and lots of dirt.)

Been lurking here for a while and plan to head to Tazewell this summer, but in the meantime I will continue to look used. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I am on the fence on that one. It is an old style, no QA. I think JJ's is similar. Not sure how it gets its dual wheels (does it). and really don't feel that it would work on a 40 degree slope (30 yes, 40 no). Also, when you foam fill the tires they are not very good at slopes.

It would be a machine to be seen in person. Looks like a Deutz which would be very reliable engine.

That's funny. It is missing the Q/A plate and the upper linkage arm.

Joking aside, it seems to be an older PT, with the engine flipped from the current configuration. The rust, the hour meter, the cup holder, and the lack of dual wheels make me wonder about the low hours on the hour meter. The current slope mower does have the setup shown, but there should also be a Q/A plate and upper linkage to go with it.

I'd also want to know what the red wire is, why the black wire has a wire nut on it, and some more details. On the bright side, despite an oil cooler bolt being loose, I don't see big oil leaks on the engine.

I'd ask the factory about the listing. They may know who it is and the details.

All the best,

Peter

That linkage is similar to my 1445.

My flail mower connects exactly like that.

The call it a 3pt hook up. I have about 7 attachments that connect using three pins .

One could make a QA plate for the 3pt if you wanted to use QA attachments.

I have adapted my skidsteer to use my PT 3pt attachments.

That particular model looks to be before the quick attach system. The mower is on as JJ said with their 3pt system. The reason the rollover arm isn't connected to anything is because the mower is on. If you had a bucket, you'd disconnect the mower from the FEL arm mounting point and remove those two arms at the bottom of the mower from the tractor. Then you'd pin on a bucket to the FEL arms and pin in the top link between the rollover arm and the top of the bucket.

There is no quick attach for that model year and it would be a pain in the rear to make one, I'd think. You'd have to check with Terry at Power Trac to be sure.

It would be no problem at all as all you have to do is to get the right size steel and cut it to shape, and then weld on the 3pt brackets.

Add small hyd cyl and latches on the back and you are done.

Do you have any idea of the cost to purchased the QA setup for a 1445

plate = $186.
hyd cyl = $121.
locking lugs = $60
mounting for attachment = $200.

Total for kit = $567.

I have 7 attachments. and at $200 = $1400

I could do one or two, but still $$$$$$$$

I don't know the machine, but I bet you need an new hydraulic control....

But, 12K for an 18K machine.... 2K in upgrades. not bad...
