Used PT 1430 on the Power-Trac web site?

I see a used PT 1430 on the Power-Track web site. 2002 model with 2000 hours.

How much has the design been changed/improved on the 1430 since 2002?

At $10K is this worth considering?

I've got a 1999 model 1430 and I don't think they've made any real significant changes. I do know that they use a remote valve for the treadle instead of the cable linkage that is used on mine. I think they started using it in the 2004 and up models.

I too have wondered if this machine was worth considering since I am thinking about a 1430.

It appears to me that it has been worked in a business application with that many hours. I remember seeing a post from someone who had purchased a new machine and was scrapping a 1430 that had 4000 hours on the meter. If at 4000 hours he was scrapping the machine, is a machine with 2000 hours through half of its life? I guess it would depend upon the care given to the machine and how it was used. It's like buying a used car with probably 80,000 to 100,000 miles on the odometer if the average travel speed is 40 to 50 miles per hour.

Perhaps some of the high hour users would like to chime in on how many hours of use they think can be achieved from their 425's or 1430's.

I also have a 1430 purchased in 1999. At $10,000 with a rough cut mower and auger, I think that it is worth pursuiing. Looking at the pictures, it appears to have been owned by a nursery or landscaper. Generally, those folks are going to take care of equipment. At that price, it might be worth a trip to look it over. 2000 hours should be nothing on the diesel engine.
