Looking at purchasing a TC33, 2000 yr hydro, 1200 hrs, new R-4's, no super steer or sensitrac, std bucket, 7308 loader w/ woods frame mounted BH (PTO) driven for $ 17000.00. I live on small acreage, elev 5600 ft. & plan to landscape, small rock walls and clearing and plan to get a rear mounted snow blower one day. I am new to this site but have learned more in several nights of reading many posts than all my research over the last year +. Is the sensitrac/ super steer worth getting and is the PTO pump driven BH better or worse than the hydraulics that work directly off the tractor. The unit was landscape company owned and was traded in for a larger tractor, how's the value of this package, do kubota and John Deere have float settings on their loaders. Thanks Larry

Answer is easy if you can run it on your property for a few hours. Then you will know ASAP!

Mile high? Heck, I have a Tubro at sea level, would you need a turbo at a mile high? How much power loss at one mile with a non-turbo?

If you're a mile high, I'm guessing Colorado...and if that's the case....I saw a TC-33 for sale on Ebay in Delta CO that sounds just like this one. It didn't sell (reserve above $17,000), but I was watching the item. I asked a few questions, but the unit looked beat.

I was speaking w/ NH mechanic of 15 years or so @ my local dealer. He told me that one could easily expect 8000+ hours if properly maintained. So, no matter what the physical appearance is, I would ask for maintenance records. Surely, the business would have done so, at least through the warranty.

I think I'm switching to NH from years of Kubota. The ergonomics are absolutely superior! I also am a believer in SS, but it's a little expensive, and maneuvering w/ a hydro is pretty simple.

I may even have to change my handle...?

Thanks Doc Bob & Kubotasking for the replys, I live in NV and was watching that CO tractor on Ebay. I agree maintenance records would be key to the conditiion of the unit and an oil spec analysis if there are no records. just curious why Kubotasking thought the tractor may have been in rough condition ? The dealer presented somewhat of a different picture but I was going to speak with the dealer that orignally sold the unit. I don't know anything about the dealer in Delta, CO ? I am still curious about bucket float on kubotas and John Deere's, if the have them and pto - vs tractor hydraulic systems for backhoe units, which is better. The super steer and sensitrac seem like great systems, especially the sensitrac for snow removal. Thanks again for the info.

I'm a bit of a cynic...so when I see a tractor for sale that a landscaper owned, it would be hard for me to believe that it was maintained well, operated properly, and sold for no reason. I'm not saying there aren't good deals out there, but I would wait for one that wasn't used by some company's disgruntled employees... In fact, there is a TC40 w/ a 3pt hoe on ebay right now that comes with lots of toys that will probably end up being a pretty good purchase for someone willing to retrieve it out of NY....

As far as bucket floats go, my Kubotas had them, and I used the feature alot! I've never used a 3pt backhoe, but I've read alot about them here, and it makes my shy away...when I buy one, it will be the one NH designed for my TC40, or TC45 (dealer is trying to make me a good deal on a 45...). It would make me feel better, and that's worth something to me.

Hope all goes well with your decision...there are a lot of toys to choose from, and we all have an opinion on what's best (and sometimes they can evolve..kubota to NH for example...!!)
