Used Tractor info

Any idea what a used 1998 Ford New Holland 1725 Tractor is worth ??
Unit has turf tires and 350 hours and is in great condition.
I am trying to decide to get the above or a NEW TAFE 27 hp unit.
PTO and 3point hitch

I am assuming NH built more than one model tractor in 1998. Without a model number no one can help.

oops - forgot money - brand new it was $12,400. Iron Search shows a 1720 in ME for $15K list with FEL, 4wd and 647 hours

Got it for $6000 even , delivered. Needs a kill switch cable and I am wondering what that will cost.
I have extensive motorcycle experience and changing cables should be the same.As far as I know /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Sounds like a not too bad deal. Maybe you could salvage a cable from another tractor if any dealers may know of some? Otherwise, new probably isn't all that expensive and should be pretty easy to change out. Have you investigated the original one to see if it can be repaired? Make sure the connections are all made. Possibly one end is not connected right. John

$6K for a 97-98 model 28 HP tractor with low hours sounds like a good deal to me.

I doubt the cable will be all that expensive but might take a few days to get it, probably not something the NH dealer would have in stock.

Unless you have the records for service done to the tractor I would recommend that you change oil and trans fluid and all filters just to be sure you are starting off right.
