Useful new sharpening tool

Picked up one of these:

2 in 1 Filing Guide & Saw Chain Sharpener | STIHL USA

I like it ! I have an electric sharpener and hand files, but I find the way this tool is designed makes sharpening much quicker and easier.
It sharpens the tooth and files the depth gauge with the same stroke. I had quite a bit of work to do over the weekend, and it definitely saved some time.
I know a seasoned cutter is quick with a simple file, but for an occasional user like myself, this proved to be worth the $40.

If you like the Stihl brand, you may like the Pferd brand even better as it was their idea and the cost is less that Stihl. I do have one for my little saw. I have not decided to change by bigger saw from square chisel tooth to round yet. If cuts so well with the square. Pferd looks like a good alternative. I see Bailey's has the double file style Pferd for 35; I paid 40 for the Stihl at a local shop. I see the Stihl online for up to 60. A wide range!

When I checked on them a few months ago, the Stihl sharpeners were $35 around here. The Pferd linked above is a copy of the Husqvarna sharpener (or vice versa), and they also make the Stihl style for $35 as Widefat mentioned.

I LOVE mine. My chain was dull and needed to be sharpened. 5 minutes on the back of my pickup, and boom! Good as new.

Tool is perfect for a rookie like me.

I also bought the Pferd off Amazon and love it. When I checked on the Stihl, it was $60-70 and I got the Pferd for $30 I think. I'm a rookie as well, but cut a lot of wood and it's been a big help to me.

I agree, I was just saying. I've seen some comments that Pferd makes them for Stihl, but I don't know anything about that.

Pfred makes the one for stihl.

Have it made in white orange add the stihl name and charge more on resell. The stihl way.
