BX23
Hi all. I have a couple of acres that I am clearing using my BX23. While I can remove the vegetation I am having difficulty smoothing and leveling the ground. I live in Upstate New York.

Do I need a blade attachment? A Rake attachment? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Chris

I just finished leveling a couple acres with great success. I took a 18 ft long 8"x 12" beam and placed about 12 cement blocks on top of it and ran a long 2"x4" through the middle of all the cement blocks nailing the 2"x4" every so often to keep the blocks in place. I pulled this behind my tractor with a chain connected to each side. I had my BB attached while doing this and dropped the teeth on the BB to the lowes position possible, lowering the BB just enough to loosen the soil so the beam could redistribute it to the low spots. My yard is flat as a pancake now.

CHRIS,
I use a 6 foot heavy duty i beam, with 8 feet of chain and i hook it to my bucket hook
weld the chain ends on the ends of the drag ,so it dont fish tail..if you want to fill in a hole just lift it up when you get there.if you want to pile up some dirt, set your chain in your hook to make the drag angle to get that snowplow effect.A good heavy i beam that the 23 will lift will rip out roots and rocks great, and smooth like a banana peel.

Bx23Seattle,
Did you attach your beam to the boxblade?

SCB,
I hooked the chain to the rear of the tractor down low on the trailer hitch area. Used shackle and chain hook. It turns pretty tight corners as well which was nice. If you ever want to borrow it let me know. I would raise the BB prior to turning, otherwise the chain would be in the way.

Bx23Seattle,
I just may take you up on that. Thank you for the offer! Sounds like it worked pretty good. Was your property alreadyat a level grade and you used it for flattening or didyou use it to change the grade? Thanks again for the offer.

SCB,

Steve, I did the major grading with dozer and full size hoe. Used this for taking out the rest of the high/low spots and overall nice smooth finish. I wanted to be able to mow as fast as possible, I can go full speed in high gear and it's still a very smooth ride. I pulled the board around every direction possible, I tried dragging a bunch of chain link fencing around and this worked 100% faster and better. If you decide you want to use it I can be reached at 425-879-8506.

Thanks (MR) Kelley. I saved your number. It may be a little bit until I am at that point. I will call when I am though. Thanks!
