I'm looking at either a 2305 or a 2320. I need to be able to pull at least a small moldboard plow for turning my garden area. I understand that the 2320 has more ground clearance that would make handling a moldboard easier. But the 2305 has other advantages that fit my needs pretty well.

Does anyone have any experience with using a moldboard plow on a 2305? How does it work?

Hiya,

First off welcome to the board, glad to have ya. :D

I would suggest if your looking for information on specific tractors, you post in the brand forum for that make, however here is a post that may help you.

If your looking for a weeks worth of reading regarding which is better 2305-2320-2520 just search the JD forum, we don't have a shortage of those posts....

Again, welcome and feel free to shoot me a note.

I think that guy actually built a plow!!! That's cool. Looks like it does a great job also. Notice how he installed a "land" wheel to overcome the lack of "draft" control on the 3pt. Very cool idea.

That "idea" goes back to the '50s when IH used such a wheel on the side of their 2pt fasthitch plows as the original fasthitches didn't have draft control. Looks like JD finally caught on.....(grin). BobG in Va

That's not a JD plow. I have one exactly the same... white and all . Came with my 1978 446 Case. I think it's an IH impement. I use it on my Kubota BX 1800 with good results.

That's my smiling face on the 2305.
It is a Brinly plow with a home made hitch to fit the I-match quick hitch on the tractor. It is all stock other than the hitch. The only difference between Brinly and JD is the paint and decals.

bigtiller,
I hope you didn't mind that I used your pictures. I've been looking at the 2305, and 2320 for my property, and would love to have a plow setup like that for whatever I end up choosing. I had saved the pictures to my hard drive, and couldn't remember where I had found them, or I would have attached a link to your thread.....

Chuck, I didn't mind at all. In fact, I considered it a complement.
