OK ,FIRST NOT RUDE. OR YELLING JUST OLD & BLIND.........MY JINMA Y380 IS JUST STARTED USING OIL,GOT ABOUT 400 HRS ON IT I THINK AS THE HR METER QUIT @ 350.45 2 WEEKS AGO.
IT STARTED USING OIL AFTER THE LAST OIL CHANGE @ 350 HRS, ADJUSTED VALVES @ THAT TIME ALSO.
I NOTICED IT STARTED SMOKING BLACK SMOKE, ALSO SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE (I THINK IT'S A BLOCK VENT IT'S BEHIND & LOWER THAN THE EXHAUST & HAS A WIRE MESH FILTER)..IT IS ALSO STARTING TO GET WARM 200 DEGREES F..
NO NOTICEABLE BLOW BY W/OIL FILLER REMOVED...
IT STARTS FINE,WILL CHECK COMPRESSION MONDAY .. ANY OTHER IDEAS OTHER THAN RINGS,VALVE GUIDE SEALS,,,
OIL PRESSURE BETWEEN 35 PSI @ IDLE -55-60 PSI@ OPERATING SPEED..:confused::(:irked::censored::censored::censored:

That "wire mesh filter" you identified is the crankcase breather. It requires periodic cleaning. If this is not already part of your maintenance schedule, I recommend you remove it and wash with kerosene at least yearly. Consider also that the engine oil filter may be bypassing. Doesn't cost much to replace it. May as well change the oil while you're at it. Also, remove the valve cover and wash it out. Then use a paint brush to wash away the crud on and around the valves. You'll then find a few oil ports, where splash lubrication passes between head and crankcase. One or more may need unblocking. Because of the potential of contaminating the crankcase with kerosene, this should be done before you change the oil and filter.

these things are not too bad and parts can be had at several state side businesses in a few days. Affordable is great he posts here a lot and has great parts counter and supply on hand. There are a few others here too that also have a very good parts supply.

I changed oil in a Jinma 254 that I had just bought and it smoked and blew oil out the crank case breather just like you are saying. I had put in 6 1/2 qts like it called for. That was too much oil. I redid it and it actually held just over 5 qts. No more smoke and no blow by. Pat
