Using the smaller Agri-Fab Vacs on a BX

I have a BX2200, and since I won't be able to get the PTO driven model that I am all lathered up for, I am looking at some of the lawn vacs that are made for smaller tractors.
Anyone adapted one of these 5hp Agri-Fab to their BX?

I looked at them a while ago for my tractor...I think the problem you will have (and me too) is with your deck size (asumming you have a 60" deck?). I believe they where only rated for a 48" deck.

Would it be that the vac can't swallow it fast enough or if the boot won't fit?
I am sure that I can fanagle something to get it to fit, but if the 60" is going to gag the thing it would be a show stopper.
I am just hoping to do something other than blowing them into the center of the yard and raking this year.

The issue is definitely clogging...A 60" deck throws a lot of clippings! Call DR or Cyclone rake and see what they recommend for your size deck...I did but I do not remember details. I gave up on getting one and am going to get a mulch kit for my deck.

Yep, all family here. Beware that mulch kit. There has been much debate here about them, my personal experience was less than favorable.
No matter mow much I kept on top of the grass, and how dry it was, that mulcher nearly choked my lawn to death.
I finally removed it and sold it. Maybe it was just the Kubota design, but it was awful.
After I dethatched the heck out of the lawn, and changed over to regular blades without the discharge guide to throw the clippings as far as I could, my lawn finally recovered.
Just my experience, some folks love theirs. And forget it on leaves. Then again I have big, tough oak leaves to digest, it made them into 1" chunks that were then very hard to pick up.
I hope if you decide to get one that you have better luck.

I have a BX2350 with the 60" deck. I use an Agrifab collection trailer. I am not sure, but I think it is 5 hp. I purchased the Kubota boot. I am very happy with the setup. I have to keep the mowing speed down a bit when the grass is very high and/or the leaves are deep. But it sure beats raking. I had the Agrifab before I upgraded to the Kubota/60" deck. I would prefer a PTO driven collector to eliminate the extra engine to maintain and fuel use, but since I already had it, it was worth more to keep and use.

I have an older Trac Vac with a 5hp engine on it with a 6inch diameter collection hose that I run on my BX24 with the 54 inch mower. If I do not mow as often as I like or let the leaves pile up the hose will clog up on occasion. This clogs mostly at the boot hose connection and I think the cracks / screws in my boot are partly to blame. I paid pennys for the Trac Vac that I got used so the 200$ vs 2000$ price difference is worth the issues of clogging on rare occasions. I did get smart and made a quick disconnect for the mower where I can leave on the factory shield for when mowing the field. I will try to take some pictures tonight.

I got mine adapted for the 5hp Agrifab. I had to shorten the tongue length, but it made it much more manueverable and made it usable with the regular hose. I did have to customize the boot, but with trial and error, got it perfect. It is actually very rare that mine clogs. Not sure why.

I use the agrifab 5hp on my 60" BX and I don't have a problem.. when I go through 1 foot of leaves... I slow down, but this thing gobbles them all...

I used to use 30 ft tarps and would fill them up and tow them to the back.. Not any more...

Life is so much easier with the right tools.
