I am considering the attached sprayer for my BX-1830. I inquired a while back and I believe some here have this sprayer. From the pic I cant tell where the PTO hooks up. does anyone know if this will connect to my 1830 with no problems. The sales guy is delivering it this friday. can I use the same PTO shaft that I am using with my ccm tiller?
Thanks

You will not need to use a PTO shaft for this sprayer as the pump mounts directly on the tractors PTO output shaft. You will need to rig up something like a chain from the pump to something on the rear of the tractor to keep the pump from spinning when the PTO is engaged.

Hi,
Best arrangement is some sort of "torque arm" bolted to the pump housing and then chained (in line with torque arm) to some immovable part of your tractor. As previous post said, pump connects directly to PTO shaft on tractor (via a coupling attached to the pump shaft).

thank you all for the info, I was not sure how it hooked up and I wanted to avoid any surprises when it gets delivered. I'm sure I can manage a "torque arm" to afix the pump. Thanks again for the great info.

In our case we had to slightly modify the torque arm. This picture will give you an idea how it all goes together.

PineRidge, what type of hose disconnect are you using on your pump? I was thinking of using pressure washer quick disconnects but they only have 3/8" inside diameter. Yours look to have about 5/8" or 3/4".

Will 3/8" starve the pump for fluid or even damage it?.

The fittings are called cam & groove and I got them here Summers

TSC sells some but they had a poor selection.

I'm not sure if using 3/8 inch fittings at the pump would do damage but I'm guessing it wouldn't be the best thing in the world for the pump.

Pretty sure Cam-Lock is a manufacturer name, however they are all considered cam and groove.
