Curious on suggestions from other members. I'm taking delivery of a RTV900 and will at some point need to get a utility trailer to transport it. Does anyone have any suggestions / pointers to share? There seems to be a wide range of options. I was thinking of renting some differnet ones to get a feel for what works best, but would be very interested in others' experiences.

I would go with a 16' car/landscape trailer with brakes...RTV's are pretty heavy.

Your tow vehicle needs to be considered when buying a trailer for your RTV. Trailers over 2995lbs GVW require brakes in all 50 states. The rule of thumb for tonque weight is 6-10% of the trailer GVW. Tow vehicle needs to be able to hande the tonque weight or say 350lbs +. You won't be pulling your trailer with a lght duty SUV/Crossover vehicle i.e. anything eqipped w/a 1 1/4 receiver. You need at minimum a vehicle w/Class III hitch capability. Strongly suggest a tandum axle trailer which will reduce tonque weight by placing the load over the axles. Bottom line, buying a trailer for your RTV is much more then just ensuring the RTV fits on the trailer. Lots of varibles to consider and don't forget, if you buy a trailer w/electric brakes, you will need to outfit the tow vehicle w/an electric brake controller.

Just when you thought it was simple decision..............

I made a mistake on the first ATV trailer I bought. It was a small lightweight aluminum trailer with no side rails. It was a very well made trailer but too lightweight. It bounced so badly going down the road that I could never keep the tie downs tight. With no side rails I was always afraid that the ATV would bounce right off the trailer.

Forgot to mention the tow vehicle. I have a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT (fancy pants F150 really)with the trailer tow package and the brake controller as we tow a 30 ft travel trailer, so I think the tandem axel 16 ft car hauler is a good suggestion. Not to mention this will enable me to bring home more goodies from the tractor shows than what fits in the bed of the pickup!! Boy my wife is gonna love this idea!

16ft dual axle landscape trailer works well for me the are fairly inexpensive and very handy to have around.Width could be a consideration if your getting a snow plow for the rtv I know with mine it gets very tight with the blade on.They do make different widths depending on the maker. Have fun
