Well its been a long time comming, but, today, I start the drive home, from Columbus, MS, its about a seven hour drive. Can't wait to get started on my list of projects, 1 work aorund church, 2 work at the grave yard, 3 help Mr Curry, and 4, Just have fun putting hours on the new BX 23.

Maybe putting hours on the new rig will keep me from wishing I had a bigger machine, reading about all those of yall getting B3030, and B2630 TLB'S, just has me drouling. Any way with only 8 city lots, the BX is all I need.

I do however have a question? 54 inch MMM vs the 60 inch MMM, Sam, my dealer has a 54 in stock, and would have to order the 60, he thinks the 54 is better of course, I know, there are several treads about that here, but have not found them. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

60 is heavier gauge steel and has the self balancing option to help with uneven terrain. It also allows a tighter circle as it stick out more.

I think the cut is good on both, but I have the 60 and have never used the 54 so cannot say one is better for sure.

Myself I wanted as big as possible and the heavier duty seemed like the right choice.

Have fun with your "vacation" soon you will have to go back to work to rest up /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nothing like tractor therapy to sooth the soul!

Thanks Guys, Yes, it sounds like work, but without the stress I have of missing a rail, If I dont get my job right, people lives are in danger. ( Yes I also Know, that you have to work safely with any Machine, So you know, I will also work safety with my BX 23)

Anyway, when I ordered my tractor back in April, the dealer, did order the 60 in, but, if you keep up my post, you know, he has sold two other of these rigs, so he has to order another 60 in MMM, and he told me he had the 54's in stock, but with the info here, I'm just going to have him order the 60 in MMM again.

Have you thought of going on Ebay and buying a John Deere mower? For under $1000 you get a separate machine and you don't have to struggle with the a larger machine mowing tight spots, wheel tracking down the lawn. Also runs on regular gas. The pair of machines work great, epecially when one is down.

Ain't vacation time sweet /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Seems I generally do more during my "working" vacations too, but it makes a big difference when you can do it at your pace and when you want, seems it's not work then. Well, sorta kinda anyways /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have the 60" and am very happy with the cut. Like whats already been stated, I like that it kicks me out further when mowing around trees etc., and I also like that it hasn't gouged any at all. The floating suspension works pretty well.
I 've never used the 54" so I can't compare.

Depending on what you settle on as it's primary use, the BX23 is a very handy little machine to have around. I have the BH & FEL dismounted about 80% of the time since I've owned it and re-mounting those implements when needed is a breeze. As a mower it's a premium grade machine.

When digging, you have to take smaller bites but it will dig it's little heart out all day long for you. I've pretty much dug out all the stumps along the fence rows and have transplanted, planted and removed all the small trees shrubbery etc., that I need to do this summer so the BH doesn't get much work anymore. Come fall & next spring it will. This past winter & spring I spent most my time inside finishing up a "payback" project for the Mrs when I bought the BX23 so the outside work will be getting attention come fall/winter/spring.

The FEL gets used quite a bit tho. I use it as a lift & wheelbarrow but keep it off when mowing.

Ain't nothing like seat time, getting the things done that's been planned for a time.

Hopefully the BX23 will do what you need. Mine does, but if you need something bigger, well, good thing resale on these beasts are good. Know whatta mean /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Jim, I already have a Snapper 48 in hydro, bought it used three years ago, its still working fine, so I could wait on getting the MMM deck until latter.

Note, the clock is ticking, just finshed a last minute repair job on the work truck. Seams my driver last night backinto to a praking spot, and ripped some water lines off the test truck. checking out of hotel, and hitting the road. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I use a 60" deck, not on a BX, though. I like it, but I thought I read somewhere here a couple months ago... or maybe it was a couple years ago /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif... that the smaller decks provide a nicer cut. This had something to do with uneven ground and the way the deck floats. A smaller deck gives a more consistent cut length.
This would all depend on your yard/lawn and how fussy you are.
