Value and info on Danuser (Dearborn Equipment) blade

Hello everyone,

I've been looking for a 6' blade for some time now, and I came across this Danuser that is in decent shape but missing a few parts. The owner is asking $250, and I'm wondering if this is a fair price?

Also, the bearings aren't frozen or anything, but they will likely need replaced as will the grease cap. How hard are these to find and replace, and what would be the cost of the parts?

What bearings on a rear blade could need replacing? Where does it even have bearings? Looks like it has only one moving joint. I'd think grease it and call it good.

Kind of UGLY, but I'm sure a whole lot better then a lot of the junky blades being made today. Those nameplates are priceless. When Quality, Pride and experience meant something and not just some slick sales BS.

$250 tops for it around here. Bought much nicer bush hog brand 7 and 8 footers with the swinging offset for $300-400. That dearborn is probably a 50-52 model.

No the upper arms going to the top 3point link are flat steel on a 1952 model. Still using Grandfathers bought new in 52.

That was made when steel had more carbon in it, which made for a tough long lasting product. I'd buy it.

Look at where the spindle comes from the top of the moldboard up through the pipe that runs straight back from the lift arms. (Where the moldboard pivots left and right) The grease cap is missing, and there are some relatively large bearings inside there.

Definitely ugly, but probably better quality than any other blade I could buy around here. I looked at Atwood's and Tractor supply. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed.

There are actual bearings? That's impressive. I think most have just a shaft running in a steel sleeve.

If you use it for snow, the lack of paint could make the snow not want to slide off. Do you even get snow?
