Value of 550 gallon fuel tank

I have a 550 gallon fuel tank that I haven't been using so I'm going to sell (pic attached).

The problem I'm having is finding similar tanks so I can get an idea on pricing. Google and e-bay turned up no useful info.

Can anyone give me an idea of what it's worth (or what I should ask for it)? The pump goes with it as well. It was about $250 new.

The tank was filled with gas probably twice.

I'm shopping around for a bulk diesel tank simular to that tank. Local fuel distributor wanted $1600 for tank and pump. (He's still got it, and I still have my $1600......)

Hard to say what it's worth.... Kinda depends on thelocal market..... And if you can find anyone ('cept Bill Gates) that can afford to fill it.....

I'd cover the cost of the pump and toss in the tank for free - just to be sure he won't turn you down. Disposal can be a big problem.

New single wall tanks are usually priced around 1.00 per gallon. Double wall tanks are usually around 2.00 per gallon. Pump should be around $200.00 if it is in good shape.

I paid around $600.00 for a real nice double wall Highland skid tank a few years ago and about 300.00 for a Gasboy 12 volt pump with meter.

call the local plumbing supply house and ask what a new 550 tank cost. Then ask 1/2 or 1/3 of that cost. The pump is worth about $100 - $125 additional. I wouldn't want to be the one to be moving that tank unless it is accessible with the tractor. The other thing that he needs to realize is that there is no cradle presently for the tank. He should build a proper cradle to mount the tank on. If he is going to keep it outside, it should be protected from the weather. That tank was originally designed for direct burial, not above ground storage. Just curious why you don't want to keep it for your own use? You don't have to fill it to the top and it will be very convenient for tractor filling.

Junk - For diesel, it's a bit too big. I have another 50 gallon which is more of the size I need.
