Value on a MF 2745?

Drove by farm other day. They have a MF 2745, factory cab, working heater, A/C "fan needs fixed" (and supposedly he's fixing it). Rubber looks good all way around, does NOT have dual rear tires. I belive it has 2 rear remotes, right at 2,500 or perhaps 2,800 hours, I forget which he said.

He has a Bush Hog 3715 Heavy Duty flex wing mower that they say was only used "a couple of times" to cut 75 acres. I've not seen the mower yet. I'm going to try to see all again this weekend & perhaps take some pics so can post here.

upshot, the tractor price is $9,500, presumably with the A/C fixed. The mower... this got me thinking...

he said "We called the dealer and it costs about (I forget) $12,000 (??) new and we want $10,000 for it"

So upshot, about $20,000 for this lawn mower that I can then use to cut about 125 acres instead of this STINKING 5' rotary we have on the back of a old, beat up International 444.

Sooooooo, any immediate thoughts or caveats?

Anything I need to look out for when I go back this weekend?

Anything I ought to specifically take a pic of to give you a better idea of what's up?

Evidently they bought it used. He says it was used for hay bailing (or so I THINK that's what he said, I was on another phone call when he called & I was distracted)

My gut feeling is he bought it all used and is trying to either make some $$ off me or at minimum recoup his initial $$. I can't say I blame him but since I'd be getting a loan for it I don't want to have it TOO unfair of a price.

Any thoughts are appreciated

There is a substantial increase in operating cost on a 2745 over your existing tractor. The V8 will consume alot of fuel and the oil capacity is about 20 qts. The main problem with that series is the transmission. If it is a 24 speed run as fast as you can. Eight speed is OK.

You can purchase a new Rhino SE15-4A for less than $9000 that includes a 5 year warranty on the gearboxes.

What is the value? That is up to the buyer. I would not buy it.

Howdy neighbor !

Well, I just went again today armed with my little camera. Seems he has THREE tractors for sale.

I'm hooking this up (possibly) to a 15' batwing mower

Anyway, he also has a second tractor that I dismissed and this one , a MF 1130 pictures attached.

Tractor has just UNDER 4,000 hours. I think it was 3,940 or so. Started up just as quick as can be & idled smooth. In fact, when he started it, he had another tractor too close to it (I think a MF 135?) Anyways, the 3 pt arm was under the front axel of the other tractor and because he was jiggering with levers showing me things, forgot he'd pulled the 3 point lift up lol When he started the 1130, the other tractor just slowly but surely got lifted into the air. Clearly there's no issues with this machine on rear end lift.

I didn't notice any real drip issues under the machine. He told me he puts a quart of oil in about every month or so. He didn't equate that with hours.

Forgot to mention, his asking price on this one is $10,000

Add that to the batwing (see in : Attachments), the package would be $20,600 total asking price.

I didn't ask if it was flexible nor did he suggest. I just asked the price & let it go at that.
