Valve adjustments F3060 L3600

Curious who has done that. And was it needed?
My owner's manual for my L3600 says to adjust every 800 hours [have not done at 1000 hours]. Wonder if needed? And just FYI - that engine runs cool.
My F3060 owner's manual does not mention valve adjustment- I have 2700 hours and have no idea if it was done before I bought it at around 2400 hours.
Both run just fine but can't hear lose valve clatter on a running diesel. And tight valves will only show up when you have a serious problem.
One of those PIA jobs I can do but could require lots of foul language.

`might call the service rep @ your K dealer & ask the same question, they may give you field experience in addition to members here

sort of the same situation on my 8540. 835 hrs. but going to wait as i'll sell out in a few yrs. i've done many valve adjustments, but on my model, even getting access is a pain (think hood removal, etc) this doesn't really answer your question, but overall i'd recommend doing it if you're familiar with the process. i sure wouldn't wait till 2k+ hrs if never adj since factory, regards

Thanks, I have not done it on the F3060 yet, but have done it on Grasshopper with Kubota D722-B engine which is similar but smaller and 3-cylinder.

It' not a big deal to check & adjust the valves.

According to Kubota it should be done every 800 hours.

I think skipping it is false savings.

Interesting document. Don't suppose you have one for an L3600?
I assume I need a new valve cover gasket for the 3060 anything else?
Can't possibly be as nasty a job as my Honda S2000 valves! Hope the same size nuts on the rockers.

Did the deed. Can you believe $17 for the valve cover gasket - a simple ring of neoprene rectangular gasket? Valve were all OK Mabe two were at .005 instead of .006 but showed signs that somebody did an adjustment before I bought it. There are four acorn nuts with copper washers holding down the cover- only three had coppers washers. Gasket would have been OK to reuse but I did not.
Will do the L3600 when I have time. Plan on reusing that gasket.

Well that's not so bad, John Deere 430 (Yanmar Diesel) aftermarket valve cover gasket was $11.86 from eBay vendor couple of weeks ago!

Both are over 30 year old tractors and most parts still easily available.
