You know...
There I was last night, doing a little bit of maintenance and clean up on my TC29D, and it occurred to me that I couldn't find a vent anywhere on the chassis. Not on the front axle, the rear axle, or anywhere on the transmission/gearbox housing.
Hmmm...
Knowing that my truck has vents on the axles, tranny and x-fer case, and seeing them on larger tractors, I was curious as to how NH vents those components. I mean, heat and lube oil breakdown is bound to create some gaseous components. How is the pressure relieved? One would expect seals to give way without some release of pressure. Yet, in looking over things, I couldn't find an outlet.
Anyone know? Now I'm curious. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
