i recently purchased a used vermeer 504 super i. i was told it was used last season but it developed twine cutting problems. upon inspection I found the cutting knives very worn and dull. i will be replacing them. but I noticed the previous owner had bypassed some of the hydraulic connections from the box on the inside of the tongue and just placed some T fittings. looks like to the gate lift cylinders. Also the 2 cylinders on the side that appear to be the bale density or bale kicker arm cylinders look to be plumbed straight across from the inlet to the outlet. is this correct?
