I noticed you wearing ear protection but it did not sound loud in the video.I can hear the wood popping and other noises louder. You mentioned slow, I have a 28 ton Speeco that might be as fast going in but slower on the return. You splitting the big knot sold me on it.I use my splitter for three weeks then put it away hoping it will start next year, a problem you dont have. These newer air tight stoves are small and the wood has to be small so that configuration looks like a good idea. I am not tall, so I have to lay 4 inch solid concrete blocks on the ground in front of things to stand on to over come it so you may have to get some to put under the splitter. It looks safe and strong and would be a good addition to one of the big monsters just to keep at the wood pile. With the addition of a generator it could be a HyBrid .

Thank you for the comments! It is really quiet, this was one of the first uses, now I only use goggles. It is strong, and the return is fast, I wish there was a 2 speed pump on it. Here in Sweden we have 380 volts 25 amp to the property, therefore the gasoline powered equipment is not as common or cheap. On the other side, welders and log splitters can be electrical and work just as good. Regarding the horizontal VS vertical, I guess everyone can have their own opinion on that.

We have 120 volt ac 60 cycle here for most things and 220 volt for larger items, water heaters,clothes dryers large Air conditioners and compressors. In commercial use we have three phase 440 volt. Our gasoline is mixed with ethanol and is wrecking our small engine carbs and gas hoses,I have converted almost everything I have to LP/Propane to get away from that nightmare. My Speeco 28 ton stands up as well as lays down, it has its place, stuff I can not pick up I can pinch bar on end into it standing on end and split into quarters so I can lift them. I am 61 years old and getting down on my knees to wrestle the log can leave my hurting and standing is my best to not aggravate it. When the splitter is laying down and I am doing the part split and roll and split and roll sometimes my hand laying on top of the log so it dont roll off the beem I do not get it split deep enough and it comes back shut and pinches the palm of my hand and can leave a water blister or maybe make me pee a little bit, just can not wears glove. I saw there was no hand contact with yours untill the wedge was out and stopped.
