Kubota/ B7500/with 2000 lb winch
I currently own a B7500 with a 302 FEL.,which is in like new condition.I also own about 15-20 acres.I'm looking at a BX24 which I was told about today with a FEL,MMM,BH. for 17,100. I was also looking at the ZD21 Zero turn mower for 9620.00.
Here is my confusion, My current lawn mower is a Cub Cadet with a 42" cut HST which is alright, but I spend alot of time mowing. I thought of a MMM for my B7500 but the tree branches would get in the way. I then thought of the ZD21 which would be nice too. I was then told about the BX24 today and I thought that a BH,and a MMM would be somewhat great. I know I keep going up in price but I have alot of wants. Can the BX24 handle regular yard mowing and brush hogging, and how would it compare to my B7500? I know the lift capacity is a little different but what else? I NEED PICTURES and "ALOT" of Advise. Can the BH on the BX24 dig in rock hard dried up soil? Just asking. The BH seems to be small. What sould I do?. I would like it all but I'm not rich.
Thanks, TOTALY CONFUSED... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You have many options which is a good thing. I think you need to determine several things. If your primary concern is mowing then going with a subcompact like a bx24 may be the thing to do. If you want to brush cut a lot of that 20 acres a bigger unit like a compact may work. I think for the digging you would want to go as big as you could stand. You already have a B7500 so have you considered getting a backhoe attachment for it. Or if you would want to pull a bigger brush cutter trade up to a bigger B series or something similiar. What about topography. Is the land hilly? what kind of tires? do you need or want hydro? do you have to have a belly mower or could you use a 3ph pull behind? Again you have many more options than these.

I have a situation similar to yours: 10 acres flat grazing land, about 3/4 acre of lawn and 7 acres of weeds. Have a 21-hp B7510HST with LA302 FEL. Use a KK 4-ft brush hog on the weeds. Takes 8-11 hours to mow the 7 acres depending on how high and how green the weeds are. Take care of the lawn with a $1K Huskee riding mower (42" cut, 18 HP engine) from TSC.

Looking for a used tractor in the 40-50hp range since I need to plow and level the 7 acres of pasture. Could hire it done, but what's the fun in that?

So far I haven't had the need for backhoe work. There are so many guys around here with TLBs looking for work that's it's more cost effective for me to hire the work done.

My fences need to be rebuilt. That's work for next year. I'll probably get a PTO-driven PHD for that work. Meanwhile, I'm looking for a used hydraulic PHD or a post driver as an option to use with the bigger tractor.

I'm not sure that getting another small tractor .. in addition to your 'like new' small tractor is the best use of your funds. Can you not get a backhoe for your 7500?

I could get a BH for my B7500 and it would probally work fine. I'm looking at the mowing part of the situation.I really need a good MMM for it and it would probally be alright.,but when I went to my local dealer and saw the BX24 I fell in love. That's why I'm confused.I have a great tractor but the BX looked so neat, plus it's like getting a new lawn mower too.The BH is not really important but I could use it from time to time.( If I could only win the LOTTERY)..Anyone have any pics of their BX's in action?

I may have missed it but how much lawn do you mow? I mow probably just shy of 3 acres or so and had been doing it with my old Kubota B1550 w/ 54" MMM. The tractor was so hard to maneuver (with FEL) around the house, outbuildings, and many obstacles, that I can actually mow it MUCH quicker and with better results using a 36"(!) commercial walk-behind mower with a sulky on it. Doing it with the tractor was a real chore and doing it with the mower is almost easy. Paid $1500 for the mower, used. I can do all of the mowing including the trim in just over two hours. The rest of my property (another 50 acres or so) is not lawn, and is too much to do anything useful, quickly, with the B1550. Which is why I'm trading it towards a larger tractor. But I think the combination of a dedicated mower and a larger tractor for everything else will suit me a lot better, and maybe you too.

If you are cutting around alot of trees then the "Z" Master is the way to go. My neighbor just bought one and it cut his sut time in half. If your property is open then I would suggest to sell you current machine and go larger with a large FM behind it. You could then but a lawn tractor for the yard portion of your property. That is the combo that I utilize. I have 6.5 acres that is open and is cut with a 72" RFM behind my 3720. I have a 48" JD LT 133 that I trim around the house, out buildings animal pens and driveway. With the extra horsepower from the 3720 I have the PHD, bush hog, seeders, and other attachments it can run with ease. MMM's are nice but I find that they get in my way. Just my opinion.

Well since my last post I now have a 60" MMM for my B7500. It's in good shape and I think I'm going to like it. It was a pain mounting all the hardware but it now works fine.I have some new blades ordered for it and they are suppose to be in tomorrow. I removed my FEL for the first time and it's like having a big lawnmower.

Hey Donny!

Chris here. You need to just sell me the loader. I need it in a bad way. PS, I am loving the 60"RFM. It does exactly what I need it to do, only problem is that now, my tractor totes the front wheels when I lift it with the 3PT. LOL!
