I just got back from dinner and my VFW for a few POPs and I would like to thank all the other veterans on this board for serving... Freedom isn't cheap and many lives have been changed by war. Thanks to all whom served...

My brother-in-law said when he got back from Nam he just got to the airport in the states and spotted a kid he knew that just got out of basic. He was an E-1 with more medals on his uniform then a 5 Star General. We still laugh about it but it really isn't funny. A lot of Blood Sweat and tears went into everything worn on a unform...Amen.

When I came back from Nam I had the displeasure of having to fly out of San Francisco. I do not pass a person in uniform that I do not shake their hand, tell them I am proud of them and thank them. If I see them in a restaurant I will pay for their meal. I WILL NOT stand by and let anyone verbally abuse these people much less spit at them.
