case 580ck mini sneaker
Hello,

I need to pull a couple runs of 300' poly pipe. One will be 3/4 or 1" for water. Basically it will supply water to washing boats and stuff in the yard. The other will be the largest (1 1/4 or 1 1/2") poly I can locate. I see the 1 1/2 and 1 1/4 stuff in 100' lengths but am wondering if you can put the union on it and still pull it the distance. Also, should I put the pull rope in before the pull or after with a vacuum?

I only have been able to find 100' sections and a source in the PA/S NJ area for the 1 1/2 stuff in longer lengths would be great.

My machine is a case mini sneaker. I have just got it running to where I feel confident it will do the job.

Thanks for any guidance.

As far as the pull rope at work we have a co2 tank air gun no regulator to blow the mouse through. I've used a vacuum and also have put the rope in as i go. I like blowing it in at the end.

I'm confused, (easilly done at times) what do you want to pull into the water line? I'm assuming (I know, I know) the 1 1/2 is for electrical? You can pull or push a smaller string on a mouse pretty easily with a decent sized shop vac. Use a poly string with a good rating to pull your actual pull line with. If it was me, I'd be leery of pulling on a union with a mini sneaker. You're liable to pull the union apart, and wouldn't know it until you went to fish the line or cable or whatever through. You might look at getting a UF rated direct burial cable if your ground isn't too rocky. Easier to pull, and you'd be able to watch for any trouble if the spool was on the sneaker. HTH Mark

The 1 1/2 will have three coax wires for surveillance, power and an ethernet cable.

All you need is a canister vacuum and a roll of fine string with a baggie tied at the end.

I blow lines thru 100's of feet of pipe this way.

Shop vac, pull string and a latex glove work great- I've done it that way hundreds of times. Sometimes you have to use only part of the glove depending on the conduit size but for 1-1/2 just tie the whole thing on and away you go. 300' of conduit will take all of 30 seconds!
