So first post might as well get right into the action..
Background of me; grew up on a family farm so operating tractors/dozers/equipment is in the blood.
No money in farming unless you go big so moving on, I moved into Landscape/property maintenance in '98.
Been totally away from tractors/dozers/bobcats since early 2010 (moved from Onterrible to BC) and inched back into the landscape stuff here...best move I made was setting shop here in BC.
So to expand on the business and not be chasing the mini hoe/bobcat work (lots of those guy's around) figured I would fill the small stuff niche that the other guys just don't want to bother with....the little jobs that are not worth there time.
So what to buy. Well that came done to the Mahindra Max26XL but pricing/value was not talking to me. Then looking at the Kubota B2650 or B3350. The 3350, though nice in having the extra HP sauce, was being complicated by the EPA. Strike that.
So add in the B26TLB vs B2650. Well i beat on equipment ...well not so much beat on it, but use it to what it is fully capable of. This usually finds the equipment's weak spots quick. So that eliminates the 2650 and leaves the B26. Built to take a beating, old school motor, awesome hydraulics and price is what it is. Added the hydraulic remote up front and the 2 optional remotes out back plus the thumb for the hoe along with QA hoe buckets. Pallet fork rounds out the list for now.
So first 14hrs of work captured in pictures edited into video
The B26 certainly is built like a tank. Run the hydraulics to the max and very very little flex in loader arms and Hoe bits. Yup built for commercial abuse for sure. Hydraulics are quick so your not waiting for things to happen. I know people have complained about the Hydrostatic peddle and would prefer a rocker peddle that requires not having to pick up the foot to go forwards backwards = one less motion. Safety switches are not frustratingly painful to deal with ...seems to be logic in there function with some flexibility, ie can creep forward in hoe position and tractor will not shut down. Starts with out having to be seated in the seat.
Now I just have to fully deprogram myself from Bobcat/skidsteer workings back to tractor workings.
