I'm planning on buying my first tractor soon to clear and maintain my 4+ acres in WA. Grey market seems like the best buy for me, since the tractor will be for various home and garden projects, but will not be my lifeblood.
One post I read on this site mentioned "Make sure that the dealer is reconditioning the unit in the USA, Not in Vietnam" Why would he have said that?
Of the local dealers I've visited so far, by far the nicest looking ones were from the Tractor Co. in North Bend, and they boast about their vietnam reconditioning on their web site. They are shiny and new looking inside and out. Their models seem to be anywhere from $1k to $3k more expensive than the same models from someone else. Am I better of saving the money and getting the one that is not so shiny? Tractor Co. claims they take the whole thing apart, replace all the seals, gaskets, etc, where the other guys basically roll them off the containers, add a FEL, check the fluids, and put them out for sale.
Any advice is much appreciated!
