Just wanted to vent. Yesterday I went to look at a Yanmar 155D that was advertized locally for $3,500 firm. This machine looked to be in very sad shape; battery held in by a bungee cord, lots of electrical tape, more rust than paint. . The owner told me he puts a tarp over it when it rains or snows bad, "But it is a tractor". The FEL and box blade both had a slight bend to the right side of the tractor. May be he was getting a run at a 60 in dbh oak trying to knock it down. He told me he'd knock $500 of if he didn't have to replace the clutch.

Fat Man,

I am curious, does the seller believe that tractor is worth the money or that Yanmar really holds it's value? Or do you believe he is way out of line? Probably the latter.

I have a 1300D which is the twin (mine has 3 spd PTO) to the 155D, that has been restored to original condition plus a few upgrades that I added (12V power supply / cigarette lighter) in the dash. If you have any questions about the model send me a msg, as I have lots of info.

Have you found a comprable model that has been reconditioned in Viet Nam? If so, are you impressed with the tractor, or the price?

First off let me say that the seller was a nice guy. He just has no concept what it was worth. Maybe he does, somebody will probably give him the money.

I used the VC line just to stir it up some. I shouldn't of done that it was unnecessary. As I said I was ranting.

I've been trying to get the wife's support in the purchase of a small tractor to save my back and for the price that might have worked had it been in reasonable condition. If it was in reasonable condition the only problem would have been fitting my 6 ft. 240 lb keester in the seat.
