Yeah, it sure is. That is how its done and many, many small farms today. On our farm, we had a pit behind the barn and spread our winters' pile, loading it with a loader and spreader like those.
That's how I remember it, except we didn't have a loader so it was shovel from cutter into wheelbarrow, push wheelbarrow to top of ramp, dump into manure spreader, repeat ad nauseum, go to school, come home repeat morning routine.
reminds me of when I worked for an implement dealer a long time ago. We would guarantee all our equipment but we never stood behind our manure spreaders. LOL
