I just came across this manufacturer that offers a bolt on grapple for compact tractor loaders for a list price of $714 + a $32 surcharge for steel costs (plus freight). Virnig Mfg It can fit on loader buckets that range in width from 42 inches to 60 inches. The price does not include a control valve, but it does include the hydraulic cylinder and hoses to the bucket.
It is shipped with a main cross beam that can accomodate a 60" bucket. You mount the end plates, drop the cross beam in from the top, and then install a single half inch bolt on each end. Then you cut off the excess from each end.
This design solves one of the major problems of grapples by allowing for quick removal and re-installation. Only 2 bolts are involved.
In a previous post someone has shown a grapple made by this company, but it was not the compact version. This unit for compact tractors weighs 160 pounds. Of course some of this would be cut off if you have a bucket less than 60 inches.
