I'm a dog kind of guy and my wife and I foster dogs for some local rescue organizations. Each year Bissell vacuum cleaner company holds the "Most Valuable Pet Photo" contest. The winner gets fame, fortune and most importantly, a donation of $10,000 to the charity of their choice.
I decided to enter my Catahoula Bulldog "Tugboat" in the contest, to see if we could raise some money for a local dog rescue.
Why should I vote for him? OR "Is that even a dog?"
In January of 08, NYC animal control found "Tugger" roaming the streets and rooting through garbage cans. He was emaciated, covered in sores and concrete burns. They gave him medical attention, but there was talk of amputating his ears and tail due to infection.
He's "unadoptable"

Now anyone who knows anything about a Catahoula knows these are country dogs. They are hard a working herding/hunting breed, more accustomed to country life and open space.
After a few months at the NYC shelter, it became apparent that this dog wasn't a city boy. He didn't like being caged up, and the commotion of the city made him anxious and nervous. The shelter couldn't keep weight on him and asked for help from whatever other organization they could find. Their pleas for help were all turned down. "He's unadoptable" was the standard answer from multiple dog rescues.
New Lease on Life
And then we met him. Although he was aloof, we just had this feeling we should give him a shot. So we decided to take him home to our small 13 acre farm in NJ. Every morning he runs the perimeter, chases squirrels, rolls in smelly stuff and gets to dig holes to china in pursuit of woodchuck. Won't ya know it, within a few weeks he put on 20lbs and all his sores healed up!

Do me a favor, take 2 minutes and vote for Tugger. If he wins, they'll donate money to the charity we selected, the Eleventh Hour Rescue...they focus on saving Death Row Dogs from kill shelters.
VOTE FOR TUGGER
Tugger is a bit behind in the votes right now...he needs at least another couple hundred. So if you want to support a good cause, please go here to vote for Tugboat:
