VT Auto Repair

A question to Burlington area Vermonters. I have what is most likely a future daughter-in-law living in Burlington and is in need of a good auto mechanic for her Subaru which needs occassional attention. She has not had good experience with the local dealership and is thus looking for a good and honest independent service mechanic. Any suggestions?. Thank you.

Not sure about Burlington since that's not really part of Vermont and we generally avoid going to the Big City...

20 miles south is Snowfire in Waterbury. The sales side of the house is a ripoff, but the service side is fantastic! When I had a Subaru that's where I took it. She's right about the local dealers. The Burlington dealer as well as the one in Berlin have no concept of customer service.

Another very good independent shop with a phenomenal reputation is Waterbury Center Auto Repair. The mechanics, Jimmy and Mike, are also the owners and have built up a devoted following by treating folks right.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the suggestions. Burlington is a pretty interesting small city/town. Like any other location there are both good and bad points to them. The one thing that catches me offguard every time is the wind chill that comes off the lake in the winter. Thanks again.
