Kioti DK45SE HST
Agreed to the deal today and am waiting for the tractor to arrive at the dealer, hopefully later this week.

Ordered tractor, loader and sunshade, HST with R1 AG tires.

Now I just need to figure out what kind/size of brush hawg to get.

Congrats and welcome to the Pack.

Kioti makes a good machine and the network is always growing.

Good luck with your new machine and post pics on delivery.

Congrats! Should be a sweet unit!

Search and read the posts on the flail mowers. That's what I'm looking to buy next. I've had too many missiles with my rotary cutter....the last one sent a baseball-sized rock through the steel sidewall, across the road, fortunately stopping 2' from my neighbor's Yukon! It's not that I cut often around civilization, it's that I don't want to be clobbered!

Island Tractor has provided a bunch of good pics of his Caroni flail. Seems to cut cleaner, and has better maneuverability (shorter off the back) than a rotary too. I've always had problems with the rear discharge clogging up and leaving big clumps of cuttings all over the place. No problem with ablilty to cut thick brush either.

How much of that 38 acres do you have to cut?

About 10 acres. About half has been cut in the last year and is just tall weeds.

Good luck with the 45, they seem to be sturdy tractors. Have about 350 hrs on mine and it's been used for about everything a tractor can be used for on a farm.
Do you mind explanining your pic? Looks like you are surrounded by big fields, seems to be a house in a part of one big field and some ponds in different areas?

I'd go for a 7ft. Even though I don't use mine that much I made th mistake (although, not that big of a deal honestly) of going with a 6ft. at the suggestion of the dealer. I would much rather have the 7ft. The 6ft. does not exactly cover your tracks and the extra ft. of width would be perfect. The power is certainly there to turn it. My grass cutter is a 7ft. and it is near perfect, sometimes I wish I had an 8ft.

Would you have the power with a 7 footer if you were running an AC in a cab tractor?

Can't say, I have no cab!:D That said, I have power to spare running the 6ft. rotary or 7ft. finisher. I mow in mid range flat out with NO issues so with the AC on it's quite possible.

I have almost 38 acres made up of ~23 acre field that has the metal barn on it you see, the brushy area with the stock tanks is about 9 acres and ~ 5 acres as another row crop field below the brushy area. The remainder is a 50 foot wide strip that runs up to the county road for access.
The area that has brush and the two stock tanks on it is a slope. It drops about 30 feet over the 350-400 foot width.
