I've run my BX62 on as little as 18hp and 5 gpm......... you would have no trouble running one on your 790 as long as you aren't trying to use it to capacity. For me....... anything from 3-4 inches up is firewood and doesn't get chipped.

I've the equivalent Salsco unit and I always sharpen, lap, and hone (as I would a bench chisel) after I use the machine. I find this makes a huge difference in the tractor/chipper ability. I am able to clean up the edges with the blades installed but a major ding would require removal, don't know about the wallensteins.

Gotta keep very sharp blades.

Good luck.

In other words...you are pampering your BX62...:D

I'll remember that when you get around to selling it some day...I'll be the first one in line bidding for it...

I was looking for a used BX42 when i came across this one locally. Guy i bought it from bought it new and supposedly only used it to clear his house lot. It was more than i really needed, but......................
