Walmart Super Tech Oil

Most of what many of our USA based retailers sells comes from China. Even parts in our "American" vehicles. TSC loves to sell China stuff.
What you are typing on to send your message to this BB on, much of the hardware in the Internet, sneakers, your Nascar cap, etc.....

That's why I look to see where something is made before I buy it. I am more than willing to pay a premium for non Communist products. In a global economy it's hard not to end up buying it once in a while but I'll do everything I can to avoid it. I have not steped foot on a Commiemart parking lot in close to 3 years now and I don't ever intend to again.

Back to your original train of thought, re; Walmart oil quality and longevity.

My experience with their motor oils, I run their 10w40 super Tech inall my cars and trucks except my Chrysler T&C van that I run the synthetic 10w30 in.
My best experience was my 1986 Honda Accord that had 280,000 miles on it when I pulled it out of that body and put it in a 1989 Accord for my son. He put another 80,000 miles on it before that body fell apart. I gave it to a friend and he put it in another car for someone and it was still running strong when it was wrecked. The engine was never apart except for timing belts and valve adjustments which are ruetine and not oil related anyway. I changed the oil every 3-4,000 miles myself. Never ran anything but Walmart.
My T&C has 180,000miles and this is my first vehicle with synthetic oil, nothing but Wallyworld synthetic, you can take a white cloth and wipe under the valve cover and it comes out with nothing but clean oil.
Now the best part, I change filters every 5,000 and O&F every 15,000. I am guessing if I had the oil tested I could go longer between filters and oil changes.
I would run walmart synthetic in my Kioti Ck20 if they had a diesel spec oil.
So I'm using the Shell Rotella Synthetic diesel 5w40 and change O&F every 100 hours, with testing could probably extend that too, but why bother.

Last time i changed my air comp oil out I went to a synthetic... I doubt it will be any better or worse though.. as little as I use my cmp..

Art, profit is winning out over quality in most areas, even with the big American company brands....alas...

I learned about the multiple makers of Hytran after having a big argument with IH purists and they argued it all came from one place. From my research it was not all even made from the same crude stock.

You do not always get what you pay for.

I do however run synthetic in my 6.5 hp mower and have the oil tested after each mowing, seems like I run out of oil in a month or so though from the testing samples

In truth though I do run synthetic in all my air cooled engines as it handles heat better and only costs a couple of bucks more per year. I don't consider it worth the money in my bigger engines though.

Need to get a new compressor, my little old Sears is getting ragged from all the sandblasting I have been doing...It is oilless amazing how hot the little sucker will get and keep on going.
Darned noisy though, I have it in another shed and plumbed into my work area.

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cheeroke with 180,000 miles on it. I have been running Supertech in it for at least 100,000 of those miles. I also use their filters. Can't beat the price. I have not had any problems. I change my own.

I get a kick out of how some people assume because WallytheCommiemart sells it, it must be an inferior product.

disregard the fact that Walmart is a global goliath, with major league economic muscle and that Wally couldn't make deals with a lilleputian supplier, which couldn't supply the volume of goods WallytheCommie requires .

If one reads between the lines,one can infer that a major oil manufacturer supplies the stuff to WallytheCommy mart or whatever you wanna call the place.

Wallythe Commymart has enuf leverage to have specialty bottling from Mobil and others oil manufacurers , witness the 5 quart oil containers WallytheCommie sells. I dont see 5 quart bottles anywhere else. one can infer that WallytheCommie talks to high level honchos at oil companies, and that WallytheCommie is big enough to get special consideration.

lots of people don't like walmart,because it squashes the competition. I dont particularly like them either but business is business, and I'm not harming Wally the Commie by spending more of my money somewhere else, just to prove a point that Wallythe commie isn't going to hear.

can you imagine having a vested interest in selling lubricants and having half your potential customers figure out that Supertech is better than good enuf and way cheaper than anything you can offer them. might as well go work for them.

I have sunk to the level of using Supertech oil as well. What can I say...I'm a cheapskate (aka capitalist: one who acts in his own economic interest.)

I have several 3.0 V6 Fords that I seem to alternate between "Brand Name oil" and Supertech. All of these engines get their oil changed twice a year whether they need it or not, regardless of mileage. I don't even bother to track oil mileage any more except in my diesel pickup.

The odd thing is that the engines seem to consume LESS oil when running Supertech.
