Nice job. I envy people that can finish a project.

Should have had a CAT though!

Poor neighbors, although he probably does their snow too.

Man, I think I would rather just do the driveway myself than to have to listen to that for 3 hours.

Well the one thing I would have added is some sort of trolley/platfom so I didn't actually have to walk behind it. Just ride. :drink:

It needs a tractor style governor where the engine speed is set by the foot or hand throttle and the fuel delivery is varied by the governor to maintain engine speed. Most of those home built truck mounted blowers don't have this type either and that's why you hear the rpms constantly speeding up and slowing down as the load varies.

This V8 need a governor to be use as a snow blower engine. The operator have to accelerate himself, just by listening.

Yes! Its not a lack of power. Its the need for what a governor does : adjust throttle as needed to hold set rpm.

I feel sorry for the guy's neigbor. Lol. I can appreciate why they put up a 12 foot privacy fence. Also, is that V8 mounted on a Cat D6 undercarriage?

There's no chance for either neighbors to "jump over the fence"! After installing the barricade so high I hope it's also sound proof!!!

I'll bet he also has a modified plow!

4shorts... why don't you make a blower with a 5 or 7hp make and brake engine... would have the weight for traction! Easy on gas...lol...

Its a cool novelty item but I bet after 2 hours of controlling the throttle for every small movement, the sound it makes, the size and weight and slow ground speed most people would gladly trade it for a normal snow blower.
I think ill keep my 8 ft blower, heated cab, heated seat and radio.

That's ok for a walk behind but it's so much nicer to be able to ride in comfort. :D

Story told on USAF northern tier SAC bomber bases during the Cold War. The USAF would hire old duffers to run combine size snow blowers like that to clear the runways come h*** or high water. So some smart butt throws a pair of fatigues, some tranny fluid in a can and some beef bones into the snow when it is still not that deep. The next morning they send out those size snow blowers to clear the runway. Well one of the old duffers running see the bones, fatigues, and tranny fluid shredded and blown into the snow pile and has a heart attack thinking he ran over someone.

The base commander puts out a notice that if they can find out who did it, that person is facing a courts martial for attempted murder.

I don't know how true it is, but I can believe it. :drink:
