Looked at a 4' 3 pt tiller made by Tarter out of Kentucky, I believe. Seems decent. TSC wants $1400 plus tax. Any recommendation or other ideas? Thanks.

I have the KK 48" tiller on my BX24. Forgot what I paid but I always ask for 10% discount at TSC. Just got a coupon in the mail for 15% off one item and used it for a KK rotary cutter.

Me too; good piece of equipment so far, but I haven't used it much.

They all are good. I'm using a bush hog brand tiller. No problems other then being 40 inches wide instead of 48. kubota recommends 40, but I KNOW 48 will be just fine.

At someone's suggestion here on TBN, I checked into the Phoenix tillers made by Sicma, (sometimes listed as Sigma), and Italian maker. Good rep, heavy duty, and expensive. Found one exactly the right width (66") of the L3940 w/R1s on (66.5"). Got the tiller today and it looks awesome. And I've spent a LOT of time looking at tillers lately. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how the gear drive, reverse rotation unit works, as my tractor won't be delivered until next week.

I have a 5 foot tiller made by Tarter that I bought at TSC. My L2800 runs it with ease. I've had it for 2 years now and used it a LOT. I love it. It's a well built tiller and was worth every penny I paid for it (around $1600 I think). Like you, I did extensive research before I bought my tiller but kept coming back to the Tarter (which, someone please correct me if I'm wrong is the same company that makes King Kutter). My neighbor has a King Kutter and it's EXACTLY like mine. He has used his a lot, too, and is very pleased with it. Like was said above, none of them are cheap. I like the fact that mine is gear driven and not chain driven. Just make sure if you get one not to forget the gear oil for the gear box.
