I have a YM3810 that came with a FEL. I think it's factory. The bucket is 40" wide with a round back, and flimsy due to all the rust. It has teeth, and someone tried to reinforce it with .25 x 2" bar stock running the width of the bucket. I bent it, and ripped a hole in the bottom of the bucket. Looks like less than 11 gage steel construction. Does anyone have any plans, or advice for making a tough bucket? Or modifying the bucket I have? I want one that will not bend. I'm going to use it to excavate and pull the occasional stump, which is what I ran over when the bucket bent. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Skid steer buckets seem to be the toughest out there. They are made to handle lots of abuse, whether it's prying out old concrete, stumps, or general purpose they are hard to beat. I put a quick attach adapter on my FEL like the newer skid steers use so I can easily use a Bobcat bucket, pallet forks, etc... with a very quick - no tools change over.
At my local dealer a normal material bucket for a tractor goes for about $100/foot. so a 4' wide bucket would be about $400.

Gene,
I've been considering a quick attach for my FEL from ATI. Any advice, drawbacks or considerations you can offer?

I can't think of any drawbacks. If you like to switch between a front bucket or forks it is in valuable! I absolutely think that it is as handy as a pocket on a shirt! I would never want to go back to cahnging pins. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a Woods Loader and they sell them as an option for their loaders. I know that Brush Hog does the same for theirs. I think that your best bet is to contact your dealer to see it it's availible for your loader. Good Luck

I have the ATI QuickTach on my Ford (NH) 2120. I went about 6 years without it before it was added. I also kick myself for not adding it earlier. I have about 5 front end attachments and interchange them at will with the New Holland factory Quick Attach on the TN. Get one, you'll love it. and while you're at it look into some forks designed for a skid steer. I think I use the forks now more than the bucket. In addition to all the things you can think of to pick up, they pick up large rocks much better than a bucket.
