Want these items on our next mower...

After a few days of enlightenment and a lot of confusion, I've decided that our next mower will be 50 to 60 inch cut, Have a Hydro Gear ZT3100 trannys, a 10 guage fabricated deck and a Kawasaki motor... OR a used Allis Chalmbers 1010, with a belly mower and 200 hours use...

If you can tell me who makes a reasonable priced Zero Turn with all the features mentioned, It'll be a great help, If you can tell me what models and who is selling them online, that would be wonderful... I'm out in the stix and on fixed income, with no dealers advertising...

Any info on the usefulness of the AC1010 to mow the 7+ acres that we mow, plus an annual mowing of a few more acres around the ponds, would also be absorbed by my old noggin and used to make a halfway intelligent decision, before I need a wildfire to stop the growth...

According to their Ads the Ariens MaxZoom60 (60") has all of the above mentioned goodies... Anyone know anything about them??? I guess they are a part of Gravely now...

I checked out the MaxZoom 60 with the 26HP Kawasaki and from what I can see this is a near commercial machine and Ariens and Gravely are the same company so should have good build quality and service life.

Further, the Hydrogear 3100 transmissions are used on Scag Freedom and Exmark Quest series on their 48-52" machines and these trannys have a filter too. Scag and Exmark are some of the top brands for ZTR.

At the end of the day if you can get this unit at $3500 jump on it and drive it and if you like buy.. Looks like a good price for what you are getting. I saw one on line - the list price was $4600..

The 3400. price tag was a dealer with no address or phone number... After a bit of research it turned out to be in Indonesia... They take your $$$ and ship you nothing... Bummer...
Best deal I could find was 4800 delivered... I did, however look at a 2005 Simplicity Legacy 25 V Twin today in real nice condition For $3500. With a 60 hydrolic deck, front PTO and 488 hours... Looks like It'll be this one, the Ariens for $4800 or a 90 Massey Fergeson 1010 16hp diesel with a 60 inch belly deck for $3500. What do you guys think...

Depending on the hours and condition of the Massey would be the difference. If the Massey has 4wd, good condition and decent mower deck and not a lot of hours (1000 range) I would go Massey - its a more robust machine than the Simplicity from what I gather from a short review.

The Massey is a more of a tractor and should serve you well. At this point why not try to find a nice little Kubota B series 7100, 6200 with an HST - they can be found in this range too. Thats what I would compare the Massey 1010 to as a relative point.
