L3400
I am wanting to add tilt control to 3 point hitch on L 3400; definitely handy for many attachments, especially cutting long drainage swales - plan to moung my laser level sensor in blade to monitor/control grade along 700 ft cut.

Looking for suggested cylinder size, control valve, mounting locations, etc, plus suggestions on where to purchase parts.

Will post picts when operational -that is being oprimistic bacause I know I will be getting great pratical ideas from the orange tractor team.

For your sidelink you will need a rear remote, one with float works nice for a sidelink.

Your L3400 is probably similar to my L3010. I got my top and tilt cylinders from Brian MtnViewRanch. Sounds like you are planning to build a hydraulic control system with a lazer input ?? Pretty interesting. Keep us informed.

If you are a good fabricator, you can get a 6" stroke cylinder to work, but it is tight. Otherwise just use a 4" stroke unit. Typically for your size tractor I would use a 2" dia hydraulic. I also highly recommend a flow restrictor, makes the adjustments much much easier.

As far as the rear remote, the OEM unit would be the cleanest route, but a bit more costly. If you go aftermarket, might as well go with at least 2 if not 3 sets. Depending on how you do it, cost can vary quite a bit.

What implement are you going to use for the grading? I ask because if you will be using a box blade or land plane grading scraper, then I highly recommend that you get a hydraulic top link also. So as long as you are going to be doing some plumbing, might as well put in 2 or 3 like I suggested.

By the way, a complete Top and Tilt kit from me, cylinders, hoses with QD ends and flow restrictors would be $530 + shipping costs. I can get you a valve set also if you want to go the aftermarket route.

Good luck. ;)

Brian, could you ad a picture to your post for what you quoted please, and the valve set, 4 vs 6" ram. Thanks

Go to the Fit Rite website shown in my signature to see a complete "TnT" kit. I do not have any pictures showing the actual difference between the 6" & 4" strokes. Pretty much look the same, just pin hole location is different and I have to give up some of the clearances that I prefer to have and are built into the OEM links. Here is a link to the company that I get my valves from. You can buy direct if you want, just won't get as good of a price as I will give you.

Let me know if you need anything else. ;)
