I'm interested in buying a D Series Toolcat for ranch maintenance chores. There is only one Bobcat dealer in my area and I don't think they have ever sold one (I know more about the machine than the guy I talked to on the phone). They faxed me a standard quote at full list and didn't seem particulalry interested whether I bought one or not. Since I'm not using the machine commercially, I'm less concerned about service responsiveness, etc.
I have a couple of questions from the pros out there:
a) Do I have to buy the machine from the local dealer?
b) I've attached the Toolcat Suggested List Prices as of 2-21-07 which show the basic machine at $35,860, cab enclosure at $4,195, road package at $1,760 and high flow at $1,240- what should I expect in terms of a reasonable discout off these list prices? (ps: I've also noted a couple of instances of Toolcat sales to government entities that are discounted around 20%)
c) I assumed that one of the advantages of the Toolcat is its attachment versitility, and being able to rent an attachment as it is needed. However, it doesn't look like any one around here stocks the attachments for rental- is it like that in other parts of the country; do you have to own every attachment that you may need.
d) Regarding attachments, they look pretty pricey- is there a typical discount off these list prices that I should shoot for?
Thanks for your help!
