Want to buy Deere lawn and garden. Something to cut brush?

I bought a walk behind billy goat outback brush cutter about 10 years ago.It has a honda engine with a replaceable brush hog blade.Great for keeping paths/sidehills trimmed.I don't believe John deere makes one just Billy goat,DR field mower and maybe simplicity.

This is how I solved my step slope mowing problems. It works very well. You know you are at your limit when you need to use the brakes or the diff lock to keep moving.

The first two photo's are of me mowing ditches for the irrigation district.

The third photo shows the slope in front of my yard that I mow once a year.

The last photo I just threw in for the fun of it.

I'm looking for a good brush cutter for slopes and areas where a riding mower and rotary cutter can't safely, or practically, go. Everyone seems to have a *bad* walk behind model, and it would be hard to spend $3,000 given the poor reviews. The best reviewed one seems to be discontinued (Stanley dual hydrostatic with selectable drive to either wheel.)

So, I want a hand held. A little more work but 1/3 the cost and less hassle. To get by, I've been using my Stihl Kombi string trimmer, but I want to upgrade to a unit with "handlebars" for more control. And replaceable blade types for varied conditions and cutting. I still want to buy something Green and Yellow.

Q- Does John Deere have something that competes with a Stihl FS360 or Husqvarna 336FR? Something comparable, or better, from Deere?

You might want to review the products offered for sale by these people. the spec's for the various units are listed. If I was mowing the type area described by you I would give one a very hard look.
