Want to buy a used 12 x 6 or 6 1/2 foot trailer to haul my compact tractor B1700, weighing 2000-2200.

That size you are better off buying new.

The used ones I often see people ask the same or more $$$ than new. And you are buying someone else's problems. Just how much money are you trying to save on a trailer that cost about $1500 new?

Thanks, that is what I was thinking.....just thought I would find someone trying to get a bigger size after they purchased a too smaller one. :)

Im not saying you might not get lucky. But even if you do.....odds are the personal selling is gonna want new price or close to it. Yet it usually complicates things when it comes to warranty and such if you have issues. And for me....it simply aint worth trying to save $100 (if you are lucky) on a ~$1500 trailer

In addition to the used/new comments above, I'll throw in my 2 cents. A 12 foot trailer is too short to haul any compact tractor. I looked up the data on your B1700 and, if it does weigh 2000 lbs that means you have a loader and the overall length is probably about 10 feet. That doesn't give you much room to adjust for weight distribution. If you also have any type of rear implement in addition to the loader, you are probably very close to 12 feet, if not over.

Thanks Kenny, it does have a loader so I'll step it up to 14 feet.

A trailer is often the very worst item to buy used.
90+% of all trailers are neglected by their owners!

If you decide on a used trailer watch out for the tires because trailer tires aren't cheap
Also look out for wheel bearings, deck condition, frame rust, springs & hangers, axle condition, wiring condition, brake function & wear, brake lines condition, break away battery condition, coupler wear.
A used trailer just ain't worth the potential trouble most times!
Sometimes even free, is not cheap enough!
