*Wanted* Aux Hyd. Plate for IH-284

I am looking for one of these....new or used.
I now have 2 of these tractors & the latest one has this plate, the other does not. It is aluminum with an in & out port using 3/8" NPT female swivel fittings. I do not know what threads (SAE o-ring?) are in the plate itself, as I have not removed them. I see a picture of the plate in the service manual, and it has 4 O-ring ports that it sits on the 3-pt lift valve, held on with 3 bolts.

I guess a few hours on a milling machine would let me duplicate one, but I'd rather 'buy' one.

An *update* to this want-ad.

It seems that the plate I desrcibed above (have one on 1 tractor) is really a sort of "test" adapter used for testing system pressure & flow. The shop manual is not very clear on this, but upon further study, that is what that plate is for. The book shows a dual gauge thingy that reads pressure & flow.
I have used mine for aux hydraulics to the rear for a hydraulic saw and/or a log splitter. The only problem with it is it must be looped from pressure to tank when not using the saw or splitter or the pump is loaded all the time.

What I need to find is the Auxillary Valve. It apparently installs under the stock plate cover of the lift valve assy, and then the same cover plate tops it off (not the test adapter). With the Aux valve, the dual gauge test rig can simply be hooked to the rear hyd. fittings of the Aux valve. The test plate is for testing tractors that don't have the Aux valve.

It (aux valve) has a lever on it that moves a spool so that in one position you have normal 3-point lift and in the other position you have rear hydraulics. So a 'jumper hose' is not needed/


This is what I'd like to find, instead of another 'test adapter' like I previously described.

well I am just about to give-up on finding this valve. I 'did' find 2 of them though, yesterday.....$655 each.....Ouch !
With only about 3100 of these tractors ever built....those 2 valves will be there forever i bet?

Who knows how many of that number have survived?
I had been hoping to find the valve off of a dead tractor somewhere.....I almost had to bury mine a few years ago, when the starter broke the end-bell aluminum bendix housing....the dealers wanted $1200 for a starter....so I built my own and it's still working.

I will build my own Aux valve too, it looks like?
I'll just do it external instead of stack valve-type like the factory one would be.

I intend to use a selector valve from Prince in 3/8" NTP with a knob on it's spool to do the same thing....a few fittings, a T, and a few hoses...mounted on the inner fender.

How did this project work out for you? I just purchased a IH 284 with 650 hours on it and want to put the Aux Hyd Valve on it as well. Do you have any pictures of your setup?
