I have been to auctions, craigslist, and ebay trying to find 15 foot of the old flex drag harrow we used to use behind a disk or field cultivator and then load on the tool when we went down the road. Any ideas on where I can find some. I have also contacted some equipment junk yards trying to find some. All the farmers I have asked have hauled them away as scrap. Remlinger makes something like it only heavier and about $150 a foot. Thats a little steep for what I am wanting. Any ideas?

I feel the "hauled it for scrap" pain.... There use to be a fair supply of older implements sized for smaller tractors around here. Not no more. If it was not for older iron..... I would not have half of the iron Frankensteins I call implements:D

My "flex drag harrow" consists of a worn out log skidder chain. Its a heavy 3/4 in. link chain with worn off traction cleats. Not very aggressive, but it works for what I need done. When new one of these chains are in the 650 lbs range. Wore out like mine is, Your guess is as good as mine for weight. Got two for free. One of the few perks of working in the timber industry.

Laid out, its prolly in the 12 foot wide, 3 foot deep range. With some torch time and shackled together with parts of another chain, width/depth could easily be customized.

Find yerself an ol' logger that uses a rubber tire skidder. Might have a set of "junk" chains lay'n in the weeds.

pasture drag.... Ive seen them new (perhaps not AS heavy duty) for about $75 a foot.

whats your use? draging the driveway? Perhaps a line of tires and a 6x6 would do.

useing it as intended, spreading cow chips out on a pasture... probably want the real deal.

Why not build what you need? I made this 8' three point harrow for $250 but you could make a wider one with hinged sections and adjustable rake sections. We used to have 5' sections made by Deere but that was forty years ago. The Deere section harrows worked pretty well, maybe a tad better than my new one. I am quite happy with what I have now though and it is easy to handle and transport.

I finally found what I was looking for. Got it home Saturday. I am gonna mount it to the back of a field cultivator using angle iron and chains. It will look something like the one in the pictures in the link below. Cost me $150 for the harrow and what ever my cost is for the chain and angle iron.
