Hello and thanks in advance,

I recently purchased a 2038r and LOVE it and I am already thinking it is about time to do some modifications. I have heard that the 2038r is "designed from the start" to have rear hydraulics added. I would like to add rear hydraulics to add the following functions: Possible hydraulic toplink, offset flail mower, and possibly to operate the thumb on a grapple (though I know this is not the only way to accomplish that goal). My question is two-fold.

Firstly, is adding the rear hydraulics something I can feasibly do? I have never worked on hydraulics before, but I do have access to a neighbor who has tinkered in this area (I sold my older JD 2305 to him!), I am reasonably tool savvy and I love a good project anyway; or is this something that a dealer really needs to do?

Secondly, if this is a feasible project, then what steps do I need to do, or at least, where do I start? Is there a specific place where I tap into the hydraulics?

Thanks in advance. I love a project and this is an area in which I am enthusiastic, but a complete neophyte.

Your best route to take is going to get the factory rear remotes. I believe this has been mentioned elsewhere. ;)
