Like I said, the splits are long, numerous and deep and the tire do not hold air, Pirelli and or Trelleborg are obviously not even remotely interested in looking at the problem, and I am not the only one who has experienced it. The retail on these tires is AUD$2400 each, which is the reason I have posted the problem here. I don't have any clue where the tires were made but they carry the Pirelli brand name.

Tires on our mower exhibited similar symptoms as you describe. They were completely destroyed in short time. Then I found the cause. Faulty tire gauge causing overinflation of about 50%.

My Mitsubishi MT180D came with Goodrich 9.5 x 18 R3's that were scary cracked so I installed a new pair to the tune of close to $900. with labor, ballast and taxes.

6 months later they were cracked almost as bad as the set I had removed.
Turns out they supplied me with the last pair in Canada and for a refund I had to return the cracked tires.
Great, I could run on my rims!

I did work out a deal for cash settlement but I still have great threads on badly checked carcasses.
I think my only solution will be to foam fill my cracked tires, that or find a truck tire that has same diameter as I am 4 x 4.

I gather that sunlight is the culprit or maybe the Chicom* rubber mix.

* suspect the latter as every small utility tire I have one carts etc all leak (even those with tubes added) so the rubber must be porous.

My Massey 1736 came with the cheesiest looking tiger on the side. Looked like it rolled off of China's Death Row or something. When I got to looking closer it was a Bear (looking more like a tiger for sure) with the name Grizzly. Stranger yet it had made in USA stamped right up there where for the first time in my life you could see it. Who knows maybe I got lucky:licking: but time will tell.
I'm not counting on anything though. The way these outfits operate today they may well make it in the Gulag then ship it over here to stamp the sidewall on the dockside. One wonders more every day the way these international operate. Do watch out with Carlisles though. The radials on my daughters horse trailer say made in China so at least part of their line (the bias I'm told) are made here. Those radials were cracking within a year, no surprise:thumbdown:
