Kubota L3200HST with LA524 Loader, Quick Connect; Loaded R4 Tires
Does anyone know what the correct washers are for an L3200HST 4WD oil plug? The part # is 6C090-58960 but I would like to buy them local (my dealer is an hour away). These are the flat copper washers. I assume everything on a Kubota is metric so my guess is that they are an M12 that you could buy at your local O'Reilly's. Does anyone know for sure? I can't imagine that Kubota has theirs specially made to a weird size. I like to replace them at every oil change.

Similarly, same question for the gaskets for the three 14mm fluid plugs and the 27mm filler plug for the Front Axle Oil Change. I don't know the official Kubota Part #s. The three 14mm fluid plugs have flat copper washers. The 27mm plug has a center rubber gasket in the washer.

Finally, same question for the two 24mm plugs and the two 14mm plugs for the Hydraulic Fluid Change. I don't know the official Kubota Part #s. These plugs have a center rubber gasket in the washer.

Thanks in Advance

I have two of these I didn’t install when I changed my oil on the 50hr because the other ones were stuck good and looked ok.

Inside is 12.65mm

Outside is 18.83mm

Granted that’s using my crappy Pittsburgh digital caliper from HF but I measured it several times.

Don’t have any of the others to tell you.

Interesting.........all my fluid plugs have some type of exceedingly hard "plastic" washers. As far as I can tell - they probably will never need replacement.

My tractor - - 2009 Kubota M6040.

Or something similar has been my solution to those type of problems. Getting the ID close is somewhat important, but the OD isnt that critical. As long as the ID is close so its not too loose on the shaft & the OD is close to the smallest part of the head or bigger (& doesnt run into something you are good to go.

Yes you should be able to find both types at a good auto parts store, the copper washers are used on brake fittings, while the rubber bonded washers are used on several oil drain plugs.

Could someone explain the need to routinely change the copper washers at such connections? Or is it the OP's intent to have some on hand in the event that one is buggered up or lost.......... Just wondering............. Don't think I've ever replaced such a washer in cars, trucks or tractors.

I guess its just a matter of personal preference. I've had oil leaks before on cars when I just put back the previous washer which becomes a PITA when it leaks oil a drop at a time onto your garage floor or driveway. As a result of this occurring several times to me, I've always replaced the sealing washers (copper, fiber, plastic, rubber - doesn't matter to me) when I change fluids. No more leaks. If you go into an auto parts store or your favorite dealership you will see they sell quite a few of these. Of course, the prices are always ridiculous - $1.00 a washer is pretty common. I think I'm going with the previous poster Fallon's suggestion on buying an assortment on eBay or Amazon. For $20 or so you get 300 of the copper variety. Similar pricing for other kinds as well. At least then you always have one on hand.

Hydraulic connections also use cooper washers. A Hydraulic shop that does hose repairs probably has all the different sizes one needs.

Copper work hardens. As you bend it, crush it or do other work on it it becomes hard & brittle. Generally not that big of an issue for a drain plug as you aren't squishing it that much. But over time as they get thinner & thinner from repeated tightening they can get brittle. They dont seal as well at that point & can split or break a lot easier.

The other downside of continually using the same copper washer is it generally requires more torque to seal creating the chance of stripped threads.

I like the washers with bonded o-rings. They’re available at most auto stores.
