You washed the paper filter? With water? I thought that was some sort of error in the manual. I have gone as far as blowing the dirt off with the leaf blower from the inside out but wouldn't dream of water. Did you use soap?

Me thinks your filter is now toast.

And that puppy is one expensive air filter too. It has a Baldwin name and number on the filter so maybe it can be found cheaper through baldwin.

On edit: It may have been a donaldson filter name instead of baldwin. It was a well known and high quality filter maker though.

Theres also a Donaldson # for an available prefilter that fits inside main filter.
That filter and its number is at my property too.... I think I got it from filtersupplyamerica.com

Dont quote me on that...

You are all right as long as you washed it correctly. Different manufactures recommend washing from 2-4 times. The way that I wash mine is to get a 5-gallon bucket and fill it about 2/3 full of water. Put in a small amount of detergent. I use Dawn or Joy. Stir the water and detergent up good. Put the filter in and let it soak for a while then lift it up and down several times. That will loosen the dirt. Sit it out to dry. If you want to make sure that you didn't damage it after it is dry, get a light and shine it on the inside. Look all around for light coming through. If you find a hole with the light, throw it away. If you don't find any holes, go ahead and use it.

Yup that's about what I did, first used air to get out dirt, then put it in a big bucket of water with a capful of that green environmental liquid soap/detergent, sloshed it around, sprayed it with the hose. It's now drying and thanks for the flashlight check reminder I'll do that.
