Has anyone used one of the funnels advertising the seperation of water from the fuel when pouring from a jerry can to a tractor fuel tank? By their own instructions, the filter seems only to work if you pour very slowly and don't over fill the bottom of the filter housing where the heavier water is supposed to sit. Has anyone used on of these types of filters and if so do you recommend it? Thanks for your time.

Are you thinking of a product called Mr. Funnel? If so, do a search and you will find many threads on this product. I believe most people are happy with the product. I have one and it works well, only down side is it leaves about an inch of fuel on the bottom of the funnel that you have to deal with. Some people pour it back into the storage container, some throw it out, others put it in a jar and wait to see if they have water in the fuel. One other item is if you use a fuel additive to prevent jelling in the winter you should add this to the tank and then add the fuel. Something about the Mr. Funnel having an affect on the additive if you add it to the fuel in the storage container,

AK, I have user a Mr Funnel for many years and they work as advertised. I tested mine mixing a a cup of water with a quart of diesel and pouring it through the funnel. As far as I can tell it trapped all of the water. I let the filtered fuel set in a clear plastic jar for a week and there was no sign of water.
